Welcome to the wild. Here you’ll find a variety of weapons and tools: boots with tank-like soles to traverse rough terrain; knives to easily slice your favorite greens; hands to vigorously pull up chicory and radishes. In foraging, damage is welcome and theft is encouraged! In Selvatici, Masoto explores, in a subjective and ironic way, the idea of foraging and vegetarianism as practices that are not entirely harmless. These themes are often associated with ideas of respect for nature, but as the author reveals in sequences superimposed on paper, we also find contrasting situations where our relationship with plants and the wild crystallizes into a combination of violence and impunity.
