CUR SÍOS

This, the third and final volume of the Kilkenny Electroacoustic Research Laboratory Anthology , is a music compilation anthology attempting to preserve the fictional history of a small composer community based in rural Ireland which existed from the late 60’s until the late 80’s. The project is written by the Irish composer and artist Neil Quigley.

This edition is released as a compact disc, poster and an accompanying 70-page booklet contextualising the organisation and the adjacent cultures which emerged around the lab. It is released on the record label Miúin on May 1st, 2026.

Volume 3 of the anthology was influenced by a variety of Irish news stories, government policies and cultural ephemera; also BBC radio plays from the 70’s, various forms of alternative living groups in the UK and Ireland, and post-war electronic music of the U.S., U.K and Europe.

Neil Quigley is a composer and artist from Ireland who is currently living in Glasgow, Scotland. Neil primarily makes solo work but is currently in a duo with the composer Sam Scranton called 'Physique.'
