Only Handle it Once is an anthology of writing, archival imagery, and photography edited by artists Cillian Finnerty and Cóiin O’Connell, published in 2026 as an extension of their exhibition of the same name at the Royal Society of Antiquaries, Dublin. The book features an eclectic and exciting mix of Irish and internationally-based artists and writers.
OHIO takes the hoard as both subject and method for making surreal, mischievous and utopian proposals, bringing together artists and writers to explore money, caches, counterfeits, accumulation and decay. Through essays, fiction and artworks the publication asks why we consider certain objects worthy or worthless, and questions how we choose to preserve or discard the things around us in the museum, bin, or in the ground.
Along with writing by Finnerty and O’Connell, this collection features newly commissioned work and extracts of existing work from Edith Bond, Isadora Epstein, Cáit Fahey, Chris Lee, Eoghan McIntyre and Mark von Schlegell.
