Rooted in the rural landscapes of County Wexford, Ireland, Kelly’s practice explores the intersection of nature and Irish folklore. Growing up immersed in these environments, he developed a deep connection to the land and its mythic narratives, which continue to inform his visual language.
Specialising in analogue photography, he uses experimental processes such as cultivating mould on negatives and delaying film development to challenge traditional boundaries and embrace transformation and chance. Photobooks and their ability to foster an intimate engagement with images are a key part of his practice.
Through these methods, he reframes elements of landscape and folklore as vessels for personal and collective storytelling.
As a founding member of the 256 Photography collective, he has exhibited in several group shows.
Most recently, Kelly’s debut photobook, Sionnachuighim (I Play the Fox), was selected for The Library Project’s annual Editions series.
Framed prints are no longer posted. We only deliver framed prints within Dublin. All postage costs for unframed works are processed separately following the order of the print. This is to allow for specific protective packaging for each case. After purchase, we will contact you to organise delivery and payment for the delivery costs.
