Better Must Come brings together a selection of Marianne Keating’s films, archival research and writings, alongside conversations with artists and researchers. Spanning works made over several years, the publication explores histories of migration, land, labour, displacement and colonialism, moving between Ireland, Jamaica and more. 

Bringing together moving image works, archival material and critical and personal perspectives, the book reflects Keating’s research-led practice and her interest in how histories are recorded, remembered and carried into the present. The accompanying texts and conversations extend the films, opening up questions around place, identity, memory and the political and social structures that shape them.
