Jennifer Walshe is an Irish composer, vocalist and artist, and Professor of Composition at the University of Oxford. With a background in experimental music, she has over a decade of experience working with AI, with a focus on the ways that AI can be used to compose and improvise. These explorations led Walshe to writing a long-form essay titled 13 Ways of Looking at AI, Art & Music, exploring the subject in a playful, nuanced and timely way. This published edition from Unsound (Poland) was designed by Eurico Sá Fernandes and Wooryun Song.
Through thirteen sharp and playful provocations, Walshe challenges us to reimagine our creative relationship with AI without veering into naïve optimism or alarmist panic. Under her pen, AI is not one, but many: nature, conceptual art, companion species. And, yes, also boobs.
