CUR SÍOS

Blue Bodies initially launched in the 2023 issue as a collaborative Black History Month special. It was created in collaboration with K’wado-ro Press, a project started by the creator of Bia! Zine. This issue was intentionally curated with no open call. It was a small project with 24 pages and 9 contributors, consisting of poems and short stories.

This year, we’ve decided to bring back Blue Bodies with an open call for submissions. We accepted poetry, essays, short stories, and visual arts. We wanted to make something that was inclusive to a more diverse set of storytellers within the community. Blue Bodies 2025 includes poems, personal essays, visual art, and a comic. This edition features 17 contributors.

Esther Fatoye is a writer, visual artist, and community events organiser promoting Black and Brown storytellers based in Ireland.
