Artist Statement

Me Time & Crumbs is a screen-printed artwork that emerged from research into the lived maternal experiences of artists who are also mothers. The work reflects on the fragmentation of time, attention, and creative energy that accompanies caregiving, where moments of artistic practice often occur in the margins—between meals, naps, and the constant scattering of crumbs. Through layered textures and gestures, the print captures both the tenderness and tension of balancing artistic identity with maternal labour. Me Time & Crumbs acknowledges the invisible economies of care and creativity, reimagining domestic residue as evidence of persistence, presence, and love.

About the Artist

Hanna Isseyegh is an artist with an expanded print practice, exploring conflict and transformation within maternal experience. Working across printmaking, paper cutouts, and textiles, her work reflects on the emotional labour and lived complexities of caregiving. Through a research-led and socially engaged approach, she develops projects that centre lived experience and generational knowledge, often working collaboratively to create space for dialogue, empathy, and shared reflection.
Currently undertaking an MA in Design for Change at IADT, Dún Laoghaire, Isseyegh’s practice sits at the intersection of social design, maternal experience, and participatory art. A member of the Black Church Print Studio, her work is held in private collections across Ireland and England, with selected exhibitions including Chaos/Order at DLR Lexicon, The Dublin Book Fair, Signal Arts Centre, On Show, and Afterthought.
