Sculpted with scattered rhyme across free-verse poetry, Diet of Fleas is a garden where fear and agony lurk but do not rule. In their debut poetry collection, Aurelie Stutz illustrates a complex earthliness to the body and soul, creating natural worlds where beauty and growth are endlessly connected to torture and devourment to reflect a human world of trauma, fury, and liberation.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Aurelie was born in 1987 in France. Many things went wrong. But now they’re doing alright. They’re settled in London, working as a specialist in Privacy Law, cuddling dogs, rabbits, and observing shrimp and frogs with Lou. Aurelie enjoys going to gigs in South London, where they have found a community that accepts them for their big mouth and weirdo incli-nations. And of course, they enjoy painting and writing, even if they find the results shit.
