Artist Statement

Shot inside an East African pop-up restaurant in Dublin, Ibile captures a moment in the rush of service. A waiter’s notebook sits between orders, ingredients, and movement. The dim light and scattered notes reflect the urgency and organised chaos of a shift
where every second counts.

About the Artist

Anil John Marjara is a Dublin-based visual artist and student documentary filmmaker. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for capturing authentic human experiences, they explore real-life narratives through both still and moving images. Their photography reflects an observational approach, documenting moments that might otherwise go unnoticed, while their documentary work delves deeper into social and cultural stories, revealing the complexities of everyday life. By blending visual sensitivity with narrative insight, Anil John Marjara creates work that is both intimate and cinematic, inviting audiences to engage with the world through a thoughtful and empathetic lens.
