Book Signing: Seninle Başım Dertte with Nazlı Yıldırım

Join us for a special artist event and book signing with Nazlı Yıldırım  to celebrate their work Seninle Başım Dertte on Saturday 22nd August at 4pm. The event will be a casual, welcoming gathering where readers can meet, ask questions, and get their copies signed, highlighting work that is censored in Turkey.

Seninle Başım Dertte was published in 2023. However, due to its queer-inclusive content and the current political/social climate in Turkey, Nazlı was unfortunately unable to host any launch events or proper promotional activities there. Despite reaching out to numerous spaces during its first year, it couldn't find a platform in Turkey. This is precisely why presenting it in Ireland means so much to the artist to finally give the book the space and voice it was denied back home. 

Seninle Başım Dertte/I'm in Trouble with You is the story of a distance that will never close, a matted knot that can't be untied, a wound that never stops itching. The story of a mother and daughter who will never recognise each other again.

I'm in Trouble with You forces the reader to witness this post-mortem confrontation as they wander from Wonderland to hospital rooms, from dusty halls to snowy nights, among irreparable ruins.
