The author presents through this photographic book a unique collection of portraits of transgender personalities collected during four years of work between the Calcutta area and other cities of West Bengal in India. The book tries to bring to light the marginal reality in which hijras, trans women, trans men and individuals still in transition are forced to live every day, as well as the attempt to regain possession of their individual dignity and the great effort to fit in and be accepted in the society.
