This book is made up of three sections written through prose poetry.
The first section is called ‘Aedh’. Aedh is the eldest son of the children of Lir. His journey is told entirely separately from the other characters. His journey shows what happens to the land because of the curse and the result of the separation between man and nature.
The second section features the characters Aoife, Fionnuala and Lir. Their stories are intertwined and each movement by one affects the other. They each go on their journey of isolation, bringing the reader through the darkness of the human mind. A transformative moment occurs and the characters find their way out of the darkness. They reach the light and break the shackles of the curse.
The third section is called ‘Conn and Fiachra: The Twin Journey’, A series of abstract poetry, the twins summarise the journey from dark to light.
