Sam O’Reilly is a Dublin-based artist who is especially passionate about print. His work aims to express the beauty of process, both within art and bodybuilding. He values the act of making over the pursuit of a final finished product, something he sees too often in both art and bodybuilding; this viewpoint is encouraged by the often picture-perfect physiques and art young people are subjected to by social media. By abstracting and obscuring imagery of the perfect body, he encourages the viewer to look past these unrealistic expectations and to consider the process of making in equal measure to their end goal, using halftone and the CMYK process to draw someone into his art past the superficial image to examine the beautiful medium used to create it. In this modern world of ever-advancing AI and social media, his work encourages the viewer to slow down and focus on the gratifying nature of developing an image, a rejection of the overwhelming amount of low-quality images presented to us by social media and AI.
Framed prints are no longer posted. We only deliver framed prints within Dublin. All postage costs for unframed works are processed separately following the order of the print. This is to allow for specific protective packaging for each case. After purchase, we will contact you to organise delivery and payment for the delivery costs.
