Artist Statement

Negotiating Positions depicts the seating plans from the Dáil, Stormont and the House of Commons – a triumvirate that considers and negotiates the politics and policies on this island.

About the Artist

Roisín McGuigan is a visual artist based in Dublin. She has a  First Class Hons MFA from NCAD and has regularly exhibited in venues at home and abroad, including Crawford Municipal Gallery of Art, CCA Derry~Londonderry, RHA, Rua Red, Hun Gallery in New York, Rugby Art Gallery & Museum UK, MART Dublin, VISUAL Carlow, and in Matera, Italy for the 2019 European City of Culture Programme. 

Roisín received the Fire Station Artists’ Studios Sculpture Practice Award in 2023, the Graphic Studio Dublin’s Expanded Print  Residency Award 2022-23 and the DeMo Reciprocal Residency at Kaunas Artists’ House in Lithuania for 2024. Roisín is also a recipient of numerous bursaries and grants from The Arts Council, Dublin City Council, Kerry County Council, Creative Ireland, and the  Thomas Dammann Junior Memorial Trust.

In 2024, she was awarded a commission to make a public artwork as part of the Decade of Centenaries Programme, and in 2025, was selected to create a permanent mural in Hungary through Project Arts Centre, Dublin, and the Department of Foreign Affairs.

Framed prints are no longer posted. We only deliver framed prints within Dublin. All postage costs for unframed works are processed separately following the order of the print. This is to allow for specific protective packaging for each case. After purchase, we will contact you to organise delivery and payment for the delivery costs.
