Recursion is comprised of three works for piano and processing. The central piece, 'Recursion' was composed and recorded in late 2001. It was devised as the sound component for an audio & video installation in Triskel Arts Centre Cork, curated by Gary Sheehan in January 2002. It is a piece I have regularly returned to over the years and in which I still find value. Sharing parallels with the concerns of some recent work, it has been paired with two new miniatures, 'Occur' and 'Recur', both composed in late 2020.
