Artist Statement

Part of an ongoing exploration of recursive creativity, where tools build tools build art. Each piece in Artifacts emerges from custom software developed through AI-assisted coding—a layered collaboration that questions where human intention ends, and
machine interpretation begins. The title references both the technical environment of their creation and the archaeological sense of objects left behind by a process. These works exist as evidence of a conversation between artist, algorithm, and the tools that mediate between them.

About the Artist

Mario Domingos (SNDAYS) is a Lisbon-born, Dublin-based digital artist and Motion Designer whose work flows between 3D design, photography, and print. For over two decades, he has explored how technology, abstraction, and imperfection can merge into expressive visual language.

He coined the term “Pixel Pigment on Digital Canvas” to describe his process - a space where digital imagery and physical form converge. Mario’s work reflects on distortion, perception, and the poetic flaws of the digital age, transforming pixels and motion into tangible prints and moving compositions.

His collaborations include Apple, Microsoft, Adobe, Google, and IBM, and his personal pieces have appeared on screens and exhibitions worldwide, featured by Maxon, Adobe, Stash Media, and La Nueva Carne magazine. In 2025, he earned a Bronze ICAD Award for the RTÉ Kids Idents and was invited
by SideFX to speak at the Forward Festival Berlin.
