About the Artist

CANVAZ is an Irish street artist who first took to the streets of Dublin in the late 90s. Since then, his work has been seen internationally in Dublin, Liverpool, Bristol, Berlin, New York, Hong Kong, and Tel Aviv. His style combines different street art techniques, including street interventions, figurative paintings, paste-up, ad-jacking, and stenciling.
Deeply rooted in Irish culture and political history, CANVAZ's work also touches upon more contemporary topics, such as the role of the individual in today's social media-laden landscape. Throughout, a common thread remains: the willingness to take a stance while remaining hopeful. Since 2024, Canvaz has been the artist in residence to Team Ireland at the Paris Olympics, exhibited with the Royal Ulster Academy at the Ulster Museum, and the RHA. He recently presented a large body of work (including Good Grief) at IBUG as part of the European Festival of Culture in Chemnitz, Germany.
