Another Street Portraits Book, Diarmuid Doran

"This is a collection of street photographs taken mainly in North Dublin between 2020 and 2024. Although shot in Dublin it is not an Irish story and not a traditional approach to the city but looks at a newer Dublin with its varied colours, vibrance and cultures. It was never my intention to create a book, it arrived shot by shot to my surprise.

Initially my intention was to photograph landscapes and cityscapes and as I worked strangers approached me interested in what I was doing and would tell me stories about themselves. As I worked regularly day by day walking the streets, I realised what was in front of me, these people, were much more interesting and so the collection developed into a series of portraits through meeting with these strangers."
