A Line Which Forms a Volume 6 is a critical reader and symposium of graphic design-led research that is written, edited, designed and published annually by participants of the MA Graphic Media Design course at London College of Communication (LCC).
Volume 6 is inspired by the way mycorrhizal networks interconnect different species and transfer resources, applying this to the way we gather, produce, edit, and display content. We understand the production of knowledge as a symbiotic network, enabled by processes of mutual contamination. As contamination happens, information is transformed, making space for new ways of seeing complex contemporary situations.
This volume features an extract of Yasmine Ostendorf-Rodríguez’s upcoming book Let’s Become Fungal! Mycelial Learning and the Arts, Inês Neto dos Santos’s artistic practice in/around fermentation, conversations with designers Sophie Rentien Lando and Robin Bantigny, and selection of graphic design-led research developed at MA Graphic Media Design.
