Genesis by Amanda Earl translates the biblical tale of creation into visual poetry, each of the book's 50 chapters represented by one visual poem. At times delicate and beautiful as flowers, at times menacing as a black hole these poems reveal new aspects of Genesis and the chaos of creation.
The Vispo Bible began in 2015 as a life’s work to translate every book, chapter, and verse of the Bible into visual poetry. Each visual poem represents one chapter. As of June, 2022, Earl has completed over 350 visual poems. Sections of The Vispo Bible have been published as chapbooks and broadsides by 10 presses, including Revelation by Timglaset Editions, as well as in exhibitions in several countries, anthologies, online and print magazines.
