DESCRIPTION

During a transformative period in Irish history, ‘Who Fears to Speak’ is a project which hones in on the experience of the young people from the republican stronghold areas of The Bogside and Creggan, County Derry, exploring how ideas of republicanism shape their lives and identity. The project looks closely at two specific traditions, Easter Rising commemoration and The Internment Bonfires, alongside the landscape of the areas. The zine includes a foreword by author and journalist Caelainn Hogan, who attended these events with Clodagh to gather the opinions and aspirations of some of the young people photographed
