DESCRIPTION

Embrace subjectivity. Nomadologise. Unclog digital neuroses. Reconnect with the ancients. Atomise. Overflow with information. Make love piratic. Plagiarise with the girls. Weave webs of excess. Become a girlblogger.

What does it mean to be a young researcher for a better future? Inspired by piracy research by members of the Centre of Postdigital Cultures at Coventry University and cyberfeminist renditions such as Laboria Cuboniks' Xenofeminism, Legacy Russell's Glitch Feminism, and Mindy Seu's Cyberfeminist Index, Ester Freider positions the archival and curatorial piracy done by girlbloggers on Tumblr as a pedagogical nomadism with political potency. Through a literary and ethnographic analysis of the Tumblr platform that is supplemented by my her experiences, she explores how girlblogging practices encourage an ambulatory approach to research, but also to self-creation as a young person. In girlblogging, one finds a new form of cyberfeminist pedagogy that is youth-accessible and culturally viral.
