DESCRIPTION

Just as the Earth’s ancient patterns and pathways are undergoing seismic shifts, so too are our cultural landscapes—histories are being uncovered, outdated myths discarded, and new stories brought to light. What do we need to orient ourselves when the world we have known is coming undone and new configurations are still taking shape?

Emergence's fourth volume, Shifting Landscapes, is woven from this liminal space. Within you’ll find stories of changing rivers and migrating forests, blurred boundaries between human and animal, geological landscapes that reveal human histories, and prophecies that weave themselves into the land. The voices gathered in this volume bear witness to the Earth’s changing face and respond to her evolving song.

Contributors include: David Abram, Anna Badkhen, James Bridle, Jeffrey Jerome, Cohen Russel, Albert Daniels, Natalie Diaz, Jamie Figueroa, Ross Gay, Stephen Gill, Bear Guerra, David G. Emergence Magazine is an online publication with an annual print edition. It has always been a radical act to share stories during dark times. They are regenerative spaces of creation and renewal. As we experience the desecration of our lands and waters, the extinguishing of species, and a loss of sacred connection to the earth, we look to emerging stories. In them we find the timeless connections between ecology, culture, and spirituality.
