Vacancy: Part-Time Assistant for The Library Project

The Library Project is looking for a new team member, a motivated, creative, and focused individual to join our small team, in helping us run our bookshop and gallery space, in Temple Bar, Dublin. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the smooth transaction of sales, daily upkeep of the shop and gallery space, and providing a welcoming environment and courteous point of contact for all visitors. The post holder will work closely alongside the Manager and the Director.

Main Duties
-To ensure a smooth day-to-day running of the venue.
-To undertake clerical duties, including process of online orders and deliveries.
-To provide consistent and high quality customer service.
-To assist with The Library Project’s social media pages.
-To control stock and and suggest products.
-To assist with events throughout the year.
-To be responsible for opening and closing the bookshop, when required.

Skills Required
-Previous retail, or other customer service experience, is necessary.
-Previous cash-handling experience is necessary.
-The Library Project is a specialised space, so an interest, basic knowledge, and keenness to learn of Photography and contemporary Visual Arts is required.
-Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with a positive approach, and ability to work on own initiative.
-Motivated, organised, and pro-active attitude.
Essential: excellent time-keeping and reliability.

This is a part-time position (3 days a week, consisting of 2 weekdays + 1 weekend) with occasional extra days requested throughout the year.
Our opening hours are Tue-Fri 11am-6pm, Sat-Sun 12-6pm, closed on Mondays.
The post-holder will begin on a one month trial contract, the position will then be reviewed at the end of this period in consideration towards a long-term contract. The rate of pay is €10/hour.
