Across Lambeth and London bridges, the fading remnants of pandemic signage mark the passage of time. Once purely functional, these traces have become quiet abstractions; a palimpsest of use, weather, and memory. Public space absorbs collective experience, leaving behind the small physical traces of a moment already slipping from view.
Joe Ewart
Joe Ewart studied painting at the Chelsea School of Art in the early 1980s before joining the Assorted Images design studio. Throughout the ’80s and ’90s, he designed CD sleeves for both classical and pop labels, later becoming art director for NME, Artscribe, and Opera Now. His subsequent career has focused on designing books and exhibition catalogues for major London museums and galleries, including the V&A, the National Gallery, the National Portrait Gallery, the Hayward Gallery, Tate, and the Royal Academy.
