What Happened to My People? Moving Back to Move Forward explores artist and journalist Sara Kim's experience moving to South Korea for five years as a Korean-speaker, and learning about the country’s authoritarian formation, including the role of the US in backing much of the political violence during that period. Through critical analysis and photography, Kim interweaves personal stories from her family, community, and work while living in South Korea, as well as during regular subsequent returns.
