Artist Statement

Arrangement of dried plants using the experimental printmaking process of Anthotyping. Anthotypes are completely non-toxic and 100% biodegradable, making them one of the most sustainable ways to create photographic images. This anthotype was made using foraged blackberries to make the purple pigment.

About the Artist

Vicky is a Dublin 8-based visual artist working primarily with analogue photography. Mentored by Sorcha Frances Ryder, she is developing a body of work that combines traditional darkroom printing with experimental anthotype processes using natural dyes derived from foraged Irish plants. Her self-portraits aim to blur the line between subject and environment, exploring themes of identity, memory, and vulnerability in womanhood.

By employing experimental analogue techniques - such as low shutter speeds and high ISO- her images embrace motion blur and pronounced grain, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow that softens the body's edges and leaves brush-like traces.

Through both in-camera experimentation and darkroom manipulation, Vicky seeks to deepen the emotional resonance of her work and investigate the roles of texture, light, and motion in visual storytelling.

Postage and Collection

Framed prints are no longer posted. We only deliver framed prints within Dublin. All postage costs for unframed works are processed separately following the order of the print. This is to allow for specific protective packaging for each individual case. After purchase, we will contact you to organise delivery and payment for the delivery costs.

Alternatively, free Click-and-Collect is available from The Library Project at 4 Temple Bar Street, D02YK53, during opening hours.
