Interspazi is a collection of landscapes that Patrizio Anastasi creates by selecting and distilling the formal elements he identifies, allowing them to re-emerge as symbols. Drawing is used as a tool of cataloguing, narrowing from a wide field to focus on one or more details, in order to build a mnemonic archive of appearances. The abstraction conveyed by the plates becomes an alphabet of recognition and participation in the forms present in a given place, whether it reveals itself to the artist in the open countryside or among the highly urbanised streets of a city.
