Mark Dupré is a visual artist based in Dublin, Ireland working in the tradition of the
photographic still life. Dupré creates arrangements or temporary sculptures of
objects taken from the vernacular and organic world whilst exercising new ideas of
colour, balance and form. Drawing aesthetic cues from Japanese ikebana floral
arrangements along with the baroque visual tradition of the sublime. In Dupré’s work
floral arrangements are reimagined with the inclusion of exotic fruits and vegetables
collected from Dublin’s ethnic supermarkets as a way to highlight ideologies of
globalism and the consumerist neoliberal market. Mark is a photography graduated
of the Institute of Art, Design and Technology in Dun Laoghaire, Ireland.
