It is said that when one is about to shuffle off this mortal coil, the brain releases a sizeable amount of endorphins, creating a state of euphoria to ease the transition. What delightful visions dance before one’s eyes as they slip into sweet oblivion? Perhaps it is a question better left to speculation than to practice.

    About the Artist

Lorcan Cassidy is a Dublin based visual artist. He graduated from the National College of Art and Design with a BA (Hons) degree in Fine Art Sculpture and Expanded practices. He is currently a member of Ormond Art Studios, an artist run space in the heart of Dublin city. As a visual artist, Lorcan’s work revolves around creating alternate realities/other worlds/narratives and then making 3D work and/or illustrating objects/artefacts/creatures/specimens from these various fictitious realms. The entities he creates usually come from the concept of manifestation (abstract ideas/feelings given physical form), hybridisation, amalgamation and/or building on/corrupting pre-established mythological/scientific lore or simply constructing his own.
