Frederic Huska is a French artist currently based in Northern Ireland. His practice incorporates photography, writing and film, to explore the multi-layered connections between the self, history and the changing urban space, itself predicated upon the all-pervasive logic of the neoliberal economy. He graduated in 2010 with an MA in photography from the Royal College of Art and completed a PhD with practice at Ulster University in 2015.
In 2018 he was awarded the three-year long residency from Fire Station Artists’ Studios in Dublin. He has presented my work internationally, including a solo show at MAC, Belfast; collaborative projects at Place and QSS Gallery, Belfast; solo show at Belfast Exposed Photography Gallery; and group shows at MAC International 2016, the Ku Art Center in Beijing, the Kathleen Cullen Gallery in New York, and the National Portrait Gallery in London. He is currently teaching photography at the Belfast School of Art.
