In more recent years, it became known as a place of fashion dominated by independent boutiques, the birthplace of the mini-skirt and Punk Rock.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn 1984, armed with his brand new Canon A-1 and one roll of film, Kevin photographed passers-by sitting opposite The Pheasantry in The Kings Road. It was really a way of familiarising himself with the new technology the camera offered. He never printed any of the pictures until 2017, when he found the roll of negatives stuffed away in a box at his parents’ attic.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eKevin returned to the same location in May 2017 to shoot for a couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon, this time armed with a digital Canon. He shot the equivalent of eight rolls.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e“Obviously the place has changed, far too many trees, phones, MacDonald’s and way more buses. Not so many people though, perhaps they were shopping online.”\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003ca href=\"http:\/\/www.kevingriffinphoto.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"\u003ekevingriffinphoto.com\u003c\/a\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003eFor those that are not familiar with the project, \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/photoireland.org\/project\/tlp-editions\/\" title=\"TLP Editions\"\u003eTLP Editions\u003c\/a\u003e is an ongoing collection, produced and designed by \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/photoireland.org\/about-photoireland\/\" title=\"PhotoIreland\"\u003ePhotoIreland\u003c\/a\u003e, that presents work by contemporary artists in the form of uncomplicated publications. These are available through \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.thelibraryproject.ie\/\" title=\"The Library Project\"\u003eThe Library Project\u003c\/a\u003e in-store and online. All and any funds generated by the project go to producing more copies of the publications, ensuring we can keep promoting the artists and practices represented. These editions are regularly showcased and donated to international events and festivals, such as the Icelandic Photography Festival recently.
