In stark contrast to the 1979 visit of Pope John Paul II, which attracted an estimated 2.5 million spectators (75% of the country’s population at the time), Pope Francis was met with less than 152,000 total attendees. All and any funds generated by the project go to producing more copies of the publications, ensuring we can keep promoting the artists and practices represented. These editions are regularly showcased and donated to international events and festivals, such as the Icelandic Photography Festival recently.
