Just like optimistic gardeners, the marks we make are not immediately apparent. We are sowing our ideas and grafting alterations at each proofing stage. Similar to nature, printmaking can be seen as cyclical, combining additive and reductive steps that mirror growth and harvest. Geomancy, the ancient art of divination which interprets markings on the ground, formed by tossed soil, rocks or sand, is as speculative as the printmaking process. Often, a print's intent only becomes legible once the final matrix is printed.
