Poetry Ireland Review is a journal of poetry. Published three times a year, the Review includes the work of both emerging and established Irish and international poets, essayists, critics and visual artists.
Issue 142, edited by Mary O’Donnell, features new poems from Milica Mijatovic, Jane Clarke, Nessa O’Mahony, Patrick Chapman, and Amanda Bell, as well as work from emerging poets Valentine Jones and Jo Bear, among many others.
Irish-language editor Aifric Mac Aodha’s selection includes poetry from Laoighseach Ní Choistealbha and Gormfhlaith Ní Shíocháin Ní Bheoláin. In this extended issue, there is a wide variety of books reviewed including new collections from Peter Sirr, Leontia Flynn, Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin, and David Wheatley.
Other prose in this issue includes an essay from Ciarán O’Rourke discussing poetry and power in the current turbulent times. In addition, the issue features an insightful interview with Damian Smyth conducted by editor Mary O’Donnell.
Artwork featured in the issue comes from visual artist and printmaker Geraldine O’Reilly.
