The title relates to a line from Seamus Heaney’s work Sweeney Astray, an adaptation of the medieval Irish poem Buile Suibhne. The cursed King Sweeney is exiled from Ireland and becomes a hybrid of bird and man; fearful and distrusting of people. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eThis work considers themes identified by Heaney by exploring the impacts of burnout and avoidance, the desire for solitude, and creative pursuit. Visually, the work explores concepts of longevity, regeneration and permanence by considering the island, its natural materials, its wildlife and cycles of fertility, aging and decay. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e\u003ca href=\"http:\/\/aoifeherrity.com\/\"\u003eaoifeherrity.com\u003c\/a\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor those that are not familiar with the project, \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/photoireland.org\/project\/tlp-editions\/\" title=\"TLP Editions\"\u003eTLP Editions\u003c\/a\u003e is an ongoing collection, produced and designed by \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/photoireland.org\/about-photoireland\/\" title=\"PhotoIreland\"\u003ePhotoIreland\u003c\/a\u003e, that presents work by contemporary artists in the form of uncomplicated publications. These are available through \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.thelibraryproject.ie\/\" title=\"The Library Project\"\u003eThe Library Project\u003c\/a\u003e in-store and online. All and any funds generated by the project go to producing more copies of the publications, ensuring we can keep promoting the artists and practices represented. These editions are regularly showcased and donated to international events and festivals, such as the Icelandic Photography Festival recently.
