At first glance these goods might seem better suited for a landfill. But at The Hill Market in Dublin’s inner city, these goods are treasure. Amongst piles of suitcases, their contents spilled out onto the sidewalks of North Cumberland Street, a diverse mix of Dubliners hunt for such treasure, often haggling in denominations of ¤2 and ¤1. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eTo an outsider, The Hill was nothing more than a ram-shackled flea market. To the insider, The Hill was a community and a family. After spending over 20 months at The Hill, although I’m not quite family, I feel privileged to have become well acquainted with the traders. Here on this concrete sliver of Dublin I found life, laughter, conversation and photographic treasures. The Hill was undoubtedly a true Dublin gem.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"a-b-r-La\"\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003eFor those that are not familiar with the project, \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/photoireland.org\/project\/tlp-editions\/\" title=\"TLP Editions\"\u003eTLP Editions\u003c\/a\u003e is an ongoing collection, produced and designed by \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/photoireland.org\/about-photoireland\/\" title=\"PhotoIreland\"\u003ePhotoIreland\u003c\/a\u003e, that presents work by contemporary artists in the form of uncomplicated publications. These are available through \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.thelibraryproject.ie\/\" title=\"The Library Project\"\u003eThe Library Project\u003c\/a\u003e in-store and online. All and any funds generated by the project go to producing more copies of the publications, ensuring we can keep promoting the artists and practices represented. These editions are regularly showcased and donated to international events and festivals, such as the Icelandic Photography Festival recently.
